Hi guys! What do you call the device that is used for checking whether a person has signs of carrying a dangerous virus in his or her body?

Your answers will be greatly appreciated.

Since they're checking for fever my guess is it's a thermometer. Looks kind of dystopian to me!

On the bright side, she has a very fluffy cat to keep her company.

My guess is that it is a body heat scanner. There are several names for this kind of device. A "handheld thermal scanner" may well be the best choice. I wouldn't use "thermometer", as this suggests an instrument that is actually applied to the source of heat. The device shown measures infrared light, which is a totally different way of measuring heat.
