Get together

Post by Stevenloan » Mon Sep 30, 2019 4:11 pm

"I travel most of the time by myself and will be doing so on my next international trip to Oslo and London later this month. The way I see it, there are clear pros and cons to this option, namely: I don't have to depend on others to get their crap together, which can often lead to trips being canceled."

- Hi guys! According to several online dictionaries, "get together" has quite a few meanings. What does "get their crap together" mean in this case?

Your answers will be greatly appreciated.

To get one's crap/shit together means to organise oneself (or one's possessions), or (in a different context) to compose oneself emotionally.

The speaker appears to be on the point of listing several pros and cons to his plan, but actually only mentions one pro and no cons.
