everything/anything

Jane says: There is a lot to do. The rooms have to be cleaned. The bedsheets have to be changed. The dishes have to be washed. The laundry has to be done. The windows have to be cleaned.

Tom says:
1) I can do everything.
2) I can do anything.

I think there's a difference between '1' and '2' in this context. To me, '1' means I can do all of those things, while '2' is saying pick one of those things and I will do it. It would normally be followed by 'tell me what to do' or something like that.

Is that correct?

Gratefully,
Navi
