Uber

Hi everybody! I found this sentence online "I play the guitar and the piano and have a group of guys who I play with. They're uber talented". "uber" is a German loanword and "uber talented" means "super/very talented".

Is "uber" commonly used by you and people where you live?

Thanks a lot!

It's an informal usage that (in my perception) is more commonly used in the USA than in Britain.

It isn't uber common now. I am sure we used to hear it more often.

I'm puzzled therefore I think.
