everything has a purpose

1) Everything here is used for a purpose.
2) Everything here is used for something.
3) Everything here is used for one purpose.
4) Each thing here is used for one purpose.

In which case:
a) everything is used for the same purpose
in which case:
b) each thing has a purpose and there might be overlap
in which case:
c) there is one purpose per thing and no overlap
in which case:
d) there is ambiguity (there may be only one purpose or there may be many purposes)

Gratefully,

To my mind they are all saying the same thing with it being quite unclear whether the single purpose is achieved using all the parts or whether they all have different, and unconnected, purposes.
2 is least likely to mean a single joint purpose.

Also, not seemingly explicit in your question, is that the may all be alternatives. So a display of jacks, hoists, cranes, levers etc may all have a single purpose and that is to allow someone to lift something. The question is which are most suitable for which tasks.

This would be quite different to the BA1387/a toolkit where each part is used for a purpose - so check the kit is complete before packing it away - or you may not be able to complete the job.

With the right context almost anything can sound appropriate.

End of topic.
