I feel that Bob should be answering this one. I would call it a coracle or currach.

We have been away on a short trip into England, so I wasn't able to do much to help Steven with his query.
I found THIS FOOTAGE from way back of coracle fishing on the River Teifi (not the spelling in the film!) a long time ago. There are still coracle fishermen in Wales, but not very many now.
