Hi Wizards. Came across this slang dictionary about early convict slang in Aus. Thought it may prove to be amusing for some. A vocabulary of the flash language, published in 1819 contains a collection of words used here that were transported along with the convicts.

Words like, lushy cove, mollisher, breech'd, prig, queer, cly faker and up in the stirrups, to mention a few, are included.

Hope you enjoy it.

WoZ in Aus

Indeed. There are quite a number of words and definitions that seem quite ordinary today.

So how many of those are still current in Aus, Woz?
