No-one knows!

In another place there is a small discussion ensuing about "no-one". "no one" or "noone". Personally I prefer "no-one" and believe that Peter Noone sang lead for Herman's Hermits. Does anyone agree with me?

I also read that John Lennon (I think it was) would tease Peter Noone by calling him no one. Or would that be No One? I prefer that spelling - no one.

According to my entirely idiosyncratic punctuation/spelling rules, "noone" is a no-no, as it helps nobody. Otherwise, I prefer to try to tie the two words together in some way, so "no-one" is the only real option for me.

In my work as a translator, I would never use it. "Nobody" is the only option for me with my professional hat on.

That is interesting Phil, but perfectly reasonable when you think about it.

The humor is interesting and funny. Hyphenation would be acceptable since it doesn't affect the quick-witted (so there!) nature of the joker.
