"A Penny to the Organ Grinder" and "Judas Cheese"

Post by plwimsett » Mon Mar 31, 2014 6:55 pm

I found these phrases in Spike Mullins's autobiography, who is better known as the writer in the BBC show The Two Ronnies, and was born in the 1920s (died in the late 80s). "A penny to the organ grinder" means a small amount, and Judas cheese is the cheese placed in mousetraps. Can anyone find any previous references to these?
