Could anyone tell me if stupidity is a reanalysis of stupid? I know that the sense of stupid has evolved (functional shift) but I am not sure how stupidity-stupid work? Is it in the same category as 'ship'shipment' and 'pen-penned'?

If you want a clear picture of how stupidity works, just do a web search on "Illinois politics"!!!

i think politics in general is the key. incidentally,if you type in 'stupid' in the Google search then press 'I'm feeling lucky' instead of 'Google search'something interesting happens...

As an aside regarding Google, another funny quirk: try typing "French military victories" in a Google web search and then click on the "I'm Feeling Lucky button. Somewhat funny... ;)
