You got me

Post by Stevenloan » Tue Sep 14, 2021 5:28 pm

A: Does anyone here know the highest mountain in South America?
B: I'll pass. I'm no good at geography.

- Hi guys! Are "You got me" and "You got me stumped" perfectly natural substitutes for "I'll pass" in this context?

Your answers will be highly appreciated.

They're both OK.

"You got me" can also be used to suggest that the speaker is acknowledging having been fooled by a trick question (or sometimes a prank).
