Hi everybody! On hot summer days some people like to turn on a pedestal fan and make it stand still so that the wind points straight at them. I'm just the opposite. Is the sentence below used correctly in this situation?

"I loathe having a pedestal fan stand still and the wind blows straight at me. I always make it swing so that I feel more comfortable."

Your answers will be highly appreciated.

I would suggest

"I loathe having a stationary pedestal fan with the air blowing straight at me. I always turn it away from me so that {I'm / I can be} comfortable."

If you are talking about having the fan move back and forth to alter the direction of air flow, that movement is known as oscillation
You feel more comfortable when the fan is oscillating.
