Hi everybody! A few days ago I heard a woman saying "take a pew" to a man in a bar. Is this phrase used for friends only or for strangers also?

Thanks a lot!

I think it would be fine to say that to a stranger. It is intended to be slightly humorous. A pew is a type of seat that you would find in a Christian church...not in a pub, although some folks might afford their local pub the same reverence that others reserve for a place of worship.

What is this "pub" of which you speak?
Is it something pre-covid?

Bob, if you're using a PC you can download the Epic browser (www.epicbrowser.com), install the VPN, and set it to one of the North American locations. Then you should have no problem seeing the page.
