Note: You had a typo in your examples. They should read "on this subject", not "in this subject".

Depending on your intended nuance of meaning, either could be correct. The punctuated version makes the phrase "by other authors" parenthetical. They have the same effect as putting the phrase in brackets and hence reducing the importance of the information in your mind. If the fact that the books are by other authors is important to you, you should omit the commas.
