Hi guys! What do you call a person who is addicted to exercising or working out at a gym?

Thanks so much!

Bob : Thanks for your answer. I checked the meaning of "Bonkers" online and it has several meanings : crazy, stupid, mad or nuts. Is it considered rude or acceptable to use this word in this situation?

It would depend on the person & the situation. A very good friend? Maybe. Anyone else? Not where they can hear you.

"Bonkers" is very mild. You can get away with it in most situations. It is less offensive than, say, "crazy" or "nuts".

As far as your original question is concerned, I can only think of "fitness freak", which is not offensive: "I'm a bit of a fitness freak."

I think that this bloke is completely bonkers, but I would not want him to hear me calling him that!

Good luck if you're sitting next to someone like that on a bus or plane.

To answer your original question, Steven, the only term that springs to my mind is "gym rat", which I think is chiefly a North American usage.
