Steve, I am not sure what those particular patterns are called. I am surprised that they may be called "vignettes", though.

I would simply call them decorative abstract patterns.
They are quite diverse in form, so a more detailed description is not possible.

I am with Trolley and Erik on this one. I will add that if being described in a shop in the UK they would probably be described as "ethnic" or (incorrectly) as Aztec. Aztec is conceived as being anything that vaguely follows a distinctive geometric pattern.
As a phrase, I might use: "brightly coloured, almost heraldic, horizontal bands of repeating geometric patterns".

Can I make a suggestion Stevem? When you ask these quite reasonable questions that you tell us what they are called where you come from, with an appropriate clue as to the English version.
