May be due

Post by STEVENSAKURA » Sun Aug 01, 2010 8:20 am

A: Is Peter free tomorrow? I'd really want him to go fishing with us.
B: The doctors predict that his wife will bear a child tomorrow so he can't go. / The doctors predict his baby may be due tomorrow so he can't go.

- Are these 2 sentences good enough? :)

Thanks very much!

"bear a child" does not mean just "give birth". It can refer to the entire 9 month process so the first sentence doesn't sound right.

"The baby is due tomorrow." is quite sufficient.
