Hi,

My dictionary says:

performance: how well or badly you do sth, how well or badly sth works.

efficiency: how well or badly you do sth, how well or badly sth works.

So, how can I distinguis them? Are they interchangeable? If not, what is the difference in meaning between them?

Something.
Which reminds me:
Sitting at the table at my daughter's college, during a family gathering there for a recital, I shared the fact that "I learned today what esoteric means."
"Oh...what does it mean?" I was asked.
"It's a secret."
"Well, I'm going home and look it up!"

I thought ubiquitous meant having something to write with in every room.
