Vulgar Language

Post by Archived Topic » Thu Dec 20, 2001 12:32 pm

Vulgar language is used in all types of music, especially in rap and pop. Although songwriters use common vulgar words in their lyrics, it does not enhance the beat or rhythm of a song. They use these lyrics to enitce teenagers to buy their music. Pop singer Meridith Brooks' song includes the lyrics, "I'm a Bitch". Rapper Juvenille uses the lyrics, "Back That Ass Up". Songwriters feel that vulgar language in their music is necessary in order to sell hit songs.

Freedom of religion as written in the constitution of the United States tell us that we are free to beleive in the religion we want. I believe in the Bible which states to do only that which is pure and holy in the sight of God. Therefore nasty lyrics should be prohibited from any music. We should be free to speech but we should also have our rights too! If we legalize any type of drugs to be sold in school does that make it right, cuz its our preference? NO! morality or preference... theres a huge difference. so if we have a preference make sure it sticks within a moral boundary.. thats all im sayin!!!

I'm laughing at everyone who disagrees with what this article says. Notice how all of your sentences don't use proper English? Yeah, I did. I like that music too, however, I think that it's going a little too far.

I like the music we have today it's not that bad like some people say it helps us out in some situations it's ok for the teenagers but i think kids under 12 shouldnt listen to it but i guess things will never change thats just way it is.
