End word association

Here's where you can set a challenge or invite other Wordwizard members to take part in a word-related game of some kind.

To stop things getting too confusing, it's probably best to create a separate thread for each new game or challenge.

Another modification of the association games.

Make the beginning of your word start with end of the previous word.

alligator > oral > alimony > nympholepsy > psychic > chicken
or
alligator > torridness > essentially > ally > lycanthrope > open > entangle

Lets start with:

Two dictionaries, and counting, trolley: elpidite not found. I'm still hoping . . .

Elpidite, (verb?) - the hastening of a task or activity due to the nocturnal efforts of small, mythical hands.

.. Shelley one might extend the game by attempting to come up with the shortest sentence that uses the string of words in order .. for instance from your examples >>

alligator > oral > alimony > nympholepsy > psychic > chicken
An alligator had an oral fixation on his alimony grabbing ex-wife that caused him to lapse into nympholepsy that a psychic recommended should be treated by eating a chicken.

.. and >>

alligator > torridness > essentially > ally > lycanthrope > open > entangle
The alligator, who’s torridness was essentially an ally in fighting the lycanthrope in open battle, caused them to entangle.

.. of course it is expected that the sentence does make some kind of sense ..

Shelley, I'm afraid it's nothing quite so magical.......just a rock. Maybe you're thinking of "elphidite". The shoe-maker story is a great example of what elphidition can do for a business.

Of course, trolley -- it was the old silent 'h' that had me confused.

Elpidite > Iteration

By the way, WoZ, thanks for the credit, but I didn't start this thread -- Mark Addy did.
