Hello everyone,

A brilliant narrative by Kurt Vonnegut, written in a peculiar, unpretentious yet wonderful way. I'm impressed with the manner Vonnegut wrote the story about the terrible fate of Dresden in WW2. I admit I'm inclined to read a literature which is rife with emotions, which keeps the reader in suspense all the way through (some of the novels I've read recently some people call "tearjerkers" :)), but this is something different. After reading this book the same question came up to me : Was all that cruelty really needed? A sceptic as I am, I cannot but think that it wasn't about the fight against fascism, it was only that some Hillary of past had lived to see his/her dreams come true by obliterating "Venice on Elbe" to the ground.
