Meaning of Night by Michael Cox
Meaning of Night by Michael Cox
I'm reading The Meaning of Night by Michael Cox at the moment and for anyone interested in old English usage I would recommend this book. For example: Whilst reading I came across this expression "to attain my majority" which I had never heard of before. Soon after I came across the same expression in Italian and discovered that it means 'to come of age'. Some of the better read amongst you might already know this but it was one of the many examples of English usage which Cox uses that has now fallen out of favour.
