So, there I was at the Pearly Gates, and St Peter stuck out his hand to welcome me, come on he said, “Let’s go and look at your clock”.
“Clock?” I said, “What clock?”
And St Peter began to explain, “Everyone who has ever lived has a clock. It is set at midnight when they are born, and it moves every time that individual tells a lie. For instance, this is Mother Theresa’s clock, still on midnight, she never told a lie. This is George Washington’s, two minutes past midnight, he only told two lies in his life. Do you understand now?”
“Yes”, I said, “But I don’t see a clock for George Bush, doesn’t he have one?”
“Of course he has one,” explained the good saint, “God keeps it in his office as a ceiling fan”.
A Welcome at the Pearly Gates
We've created this area in the hope of seeing material ranging from some well-told (or well retold) jokes to original writing with a humorous slant, or anything else that might appeal to the kind of person who enjoys playing with words more than people. That probably means someone like yourself. N.B. -- Postings preceded by ** contain some sexual or risqué content. (Makes them easier to find.)
