Tweeting

Post by Phil White » Thu Jan 26, 2017 8:26 pm

In order to preclude any confusion between "tweet" (what birds do) and "tweet" (what bird-brains do), I propose that the two verbs should be distinguished in some way. Given the current POTUS's predilection for this medium, I suggest that the meaning "to communicate using Twitter" should become an irregular verb with the forms "twit", "twat", "twotten".

Any takers?

Yes. Plus 'twitstorm' or 'twatstorm', according to taste and sitch.

...and while we're at it...for anyone who thinks they "texed" or "text" me yesterday...you didn't. You "texted" me. I know it sounds odd, but you did.

.
Like the bird, our POTUS seems to tweet before he thinks. Not a good method for creating policy!
