United Kingdom (UK)

The United Kingdom seems set to leave the EU.
I won't comment on that ....

I have another thought or question:
Should Scotland ever leave the United Kingdon, what will the new name be then?
Just Kingdom (K)?

Presumably "Disunited Kingdom", just as we would have to call the USA the Untied States if California or Texas seceded. However, "DK" won't work as an abbreviation, because that has already been taken by Denmark.

("If at first you don't secede....". Scotland will just have to be brave and try again.)

And another question:
If Scotland leaves, what will become of the Union Jack?
Will the blue-and-white Saint Andrew's Cross have to be taken out?

What has long been termed the "United Kingdom" has in reality long been the Fiefdom of Westminster. It is perhaps time to change the name to reflect reality.

In time, all the vassal territories such as Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Merseyside will rise up against the oppressors.

As Wales is not on the Union Flag it could be an opportunity to change the blue to black.
Until Wales joins Scotland and leaves the Union and Northern Ireland joins Eire of course.
Then, Merseyside and Yorkshire will be looking to do similar...

Actually, it occurs to me, wouldn't it make life a whole lot easier if all of us joined together and simply ejected Westminster from the Union? Problem solved. Along with Buck House and Sandringham, of course. We could let Southern Rail run a special train service between Buck House and Sandringham.
