a cluster or a bunch of grapes?

Bunch gets about a quarter million Ghits but cluster only about 70K

As gd says the former is colloquial

"Also, wouldn't your book actually need to be published...." Erik that's a very good point and alas one that hadn't occurred to me, in which case my entire thread would be moot. But I guess it's one of WW's purposes to call attention to the perspicuous In my own defense the only way to entirely avoi...

Phil indeed and I gathered as much and again thank you though as I mentioned I'm reluctant to make an exhaustive study with such discouragement as I've met from Guiness. I suspect they're overwhelmed by applications and have instituted the $250 charge as well as any other excuse that seems plausible...

Phil thanks most kindly for that link narrowing it down to only 40,000 Ghits. I allow that's a much better entry but now does anyone know how to get through to Guiness without an extra $250 at his disposal What I can't understand incidentally why faced with my brilliant contribution Guiness couldn't...

I had written a book of some 77,000 words entirely in one syllable (except for the footnotes) and thought it might be terrific promotionally to enter it in the Guiness World Book of Records, but they advised me they couldn't consider it because it was the only one of its kind Subsequently, however, ...

Ken at my age of 78 rpm your post is especially pertinent because as one gets older I find each succeeding day proportionally more valuable and therefore small pleasures even more gratifying with small annoyances less bothersome; while pertinent to Erik's observation, somewhat to my disappointment i...

gd and hs are right of course. However, if we knew the context we could better judge. kins this is by no means a criticism as I was in fact banned from another such board a while ago for persistently posting queries without sufficient backdrop For example the speaker may have been addressing a women...

I have often speculated, PhilH, that if one were really adept at the use of * and other such tricks he might be able to elicit much larger numbers of pertinent Ghits

But Jerry do go to Advanced Search, Advanced Search Tips, which although somewhat sketchy might help in your quest

Actually there's an argument that we in Leftpond are and have been for a long time, best described principally socialist. It was a high bigwig in that very party who declared about the time I was born that all of his objectives had been met here Though I can't say whether or not that's desirable bec...

I'd personally use the former because I judge it more nearly colloquial. However, others far smarter than I would use the latter though it doesn't really matter

One of the WW guys who are much more adept at this sort of thing will undoubtedly supply technical distinctions

Jerry I don't guarantee anything but you might try something like the following http://tinyurl.com/2mdvta Now, I get raked over the coals occasionally when my link doesn't get you exactly where you wanted to be. However, I submit this only as an example of the kind of Googling that could get you wha...
