Re: ready for some elite already

Obama was right, we should encourage the kids to learn another language. I took German in high school but wish now it had been Spanish or better yet, Arabic

Judging by reaction from the Right, I concluded that I too must be an elite

Re: Seek word

Guys please forgive me profusely for bubbling it back up and this time I promise faithfully not to do it again, but I still need that word. Ken, Phil, I know you know it

When he suggested we ought to learn Spanish I agreed most wholeheartedly as I had taken German in high school but now wish it had been Spanish or better yet Arabic. But I was dumbfounded to l...

The speed of light

Has nothing to do with words but of course this is what the Addict's Corner is for http://iidb.infidels.org/vbb/showthread.php?t=247068 More interesting even than the validity of my position is the furor, how so many participants of a particular venue become so twisted out of shape, as if they feel ...

Re: Finding markets

I might add as further evidence that pool engineers are hardly rocket scientists: The typical 115-v underwater light system is designed specifically to electrocute the swimmer. Try Googling: swimming pool underwater light electrocute and you will get thirty thousand hits . After an unpleasant swimmi...

Re: Finding markets

Jane thank you for saving me the trouble. Another interesting aspect of modern technology, like the tranquilizer that causes suicide, is the solar cover made of a material which is dissolved by chlorine

Finding markets

Since I quit my magazine-writing career decades ago (finding that it was a form or work, while retirement is supposed to be free of that kind of thing), I am unaware of the new ways in which writers find markets Back then you first had to identify the market, such as a magazine, then study it for st...
